The Well at East Shore to Offer Fresh Perspective on Church

A fresh, contemporary, and inviting church began gathering in Lower Paxton Township. “The Well at East Shore will not be church as usual", according to Pastor Brian Harrison. Instead, “it will strive to break free from the boring traditions and low expectations that many associate with churches.”  Our worship gatherings will be marked by passionate and Christ-honoring music, the sharing of personal testimonies, opportunities to give financially, personal and corporate prayer, relevant Biblical teaching, and community service projects.

Meeting on Thursday evenings, The Well hopes to appeal to those uninterested in attending, or unable to participate, on Sunday morning. Increasingly, many people have to work on Sunday, while some have children in sports activities during that same time slot. Still others have had a negative experience with church and may be opposed to attending “typical church” on Sunday. For all these reasons and more, The Well offers a refreshing alternative. As music director Dean Byler stated, "We desire to bring hope and healing to the spiritually hurting, hungry, or merely curious in our community. Breaking from the mold of tradition is one way to do that.”

"3rd Thursday" Community Service Projects

Meeting on Thursday evenings is not the only unique aspect of The Well at East Shore. Our attitude at The Well is that “the church” needs to be out "doing"--and not just talking--when it comes to loving and serving the community. To put feet to that vision, on every third Thursday The Well will go out into the community, rather than simply conduct a church service, and instead spend the evening doing projects such as serving in local homeless shelters, cleaning up neighborhoods, etc. as a way to demonstrate what our love for the community looks like.
